Control isn’t leadership. It’s tension in a neat suit.

Agency feels calmer. And it works better.
Control can look like strength.
And it often feels like: “If I don’t do it, it won’t happen.”

And still…

Control is rarely leadership.
Control is often:
• not daring to fall;
• not daring to choose;
• not daring to trust.

The difference almost nobody sees
Control: I keep everything tight so I don’t have to feel tension.
Agency: I stay with myself, feel the tension, and choose anyway.

Service-driven people with a high sense of responsibility are champions at this.
You’re reliable.
And sometimes you pay with freedom.

Three places where control hides
• in your marketing (just a bit more fine-tuning, just a bit more waiting);
• in your money (checking, calculating, doubting);
• in your business (carrying everything yourself, not letting anyone down).

The plan (3 steps)
1. Choose one arena where you want agency today. Money. Marketing. Team. Investing.
2. Choose one boundary that makes you softer and clearer. One agreement with yourself. Small or big.
3. Take one action without an extra check. Your body gets a vote. You don’t need to feel “certain” first. Do it.

Personal note
I know this pattern well.
I can still keep myself safe in my own bubble.
And that’s exactly where growth disappears.

Take a minute to do the Money archetypes test and send me your top 2. Then I can mirror it back: where this is control, and where this is agency.

Wealth Coaching Circle (property investors) — starts early February
I’m starting a small Wealth Coaching Circle for property investors at the start of next month. For people who are sharp on deals and also want to lead from calm.

Want to feel whether it fits?
Email “circle” to lobke@opsteenmoneycoaching.com and I’ll send you the details.

Where in your life do you call control “being sensible”, while you’re actually tired?
Will you tell me?
